THE FUTURE
The IMMF intends to
continue its training and other activities as long as these are truly needed. We
hope to improve, but neither significantly expand our work nor enlarge our
organisation. Success has come in large measure from an intimate scale and
personal touch.
At least through June, 2007, the IMMF plans to hold
two regional training courses and several in-country workshops each year
generally following the successful formula we have established. Themes
will continue to be relevant to the region and include as new issues:
health and HIV Aids, perspectives on poverty, community radio, migrant
labour and gender issues.

The IMMF hopes to establish alumni clubs in every
country, similar to one recently set up in Hanoi. This will enable our
alumni to form a network of journalists who will be able to support each
other in their home countries. The clubs will also provide a forum in each
country where news and views can be exchanged.
